What is the NLP technique?
Sometimes called state control, is a neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) technique involving actively trying to control the emotional and mental state of an individual. One method to actively achieve state management anchoring where an individual associates a particular physical stimulus.
Can you do NLP on yourself?
“Doing NLP on yourself is like playing tennis alone. You can do it, but it's very slow.” The Problem Is That You Can't Be In Two Places At Once. You can't be in your head, having the feelings that create the state you want to work with, and at the same time be outside of yourself, analyzing what might be going on.
Does NLP work for anxiety?
NLP is perfect to use at the moment for this problem. There is generalized anxiety that comes up with biological or medical reasons like shortness of breath, medication, sleep apnea. NLP cannot stop the anxiety but can help to deal with it. And there is the type of anxiety that pops up out of nowhere.
Is NLP the same as CBT?
However CBT and NLP differ in the way they help their clients – CBT looks to help you make sense of the problems you may be experiencing in the moment by using the framework to consciously think of changes you can make, whereas NLP looks to change the underlying patterns/strategies so that the problems don't reappear.
